Frequently Asked Questions
What does the word Technika mean?
Word “Technika” means technology in several languages.
How do you find the products you feature?
We live and breathe technology. Every day we read a lot of technology related literature from the most reputable sources on the web, and we closely follow latest tech news and product launches. In addition, we chat with manufacturers, retailers, industry insiders, attend tech shows, and visit countless stores in New York City and around the world to try out and play with new products.
What do you look for in a product you decide to feature on Technika?
Decision to feature a certain product comes down to many different factors. We deeply care about product quality and design, innovation, usefulness, how the product works, but also how it makes us feel. We also love a good story behind a product.
Do you review, rate or otherwise score products?
No, and the reason is simple.
Most products we feature are already well reviewed by tech experts as well as users on shopping sites like Amazon. We do not find it necessary to review, rate or score products. Rather we sift through all the noise to make it easier for you to find the most outstanding and well-designed tech products. See the question above about what we look for in products we feature.
Because products on crowdfunding platforms are not yet available for sale, we feature those based on available information, our belief in those products, and their overall potential.
How do we get our product featured on Technika?
If you would like to submit a product for consideration please send us an email, tweet us at @thetechnika or post it on Twitter with a hashtag #thetechnika
Please note that no free products or loaner units will be accepted unless it is with the understanding that supplying such products does not guarantee that these products will be featured on Technika.
Why do you feature crowdfunding projects from Kickstarter and Indiegogo?
We believe in supporting companies with innovative products that are not yet available for sale. If there is a product we really like, we link to its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Crowd Supply or other crowdfunding platform. Without the help of backers many amazing products may never launch. In fact, many great products featured on Technika that are now available for sale have been successfully crowdfunded on these platforms.
Crowdfunding Warning: While anyone can become an investor in the next big idea, use your own good judgement when deciding to back any project.
Do you sell featured products?
Technika is not a retailer, and we do not sell products. However, most of our featured products have a “Buy Product” button that you can use to purchase the product from a retailer like Amazon or directly from the manufacturer.
Why do you mostly link to Amazon for purchasing featured products?
We really think that shopping on Amazon is the best way to shop online. They have excellent prices, fast shipping, amazing customer support, and when you find something you love it is super easy to buy.
For Technika visitors outside of the United States from Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain and United Kingdom, all Amazon store links will be converted to their local Amazon store. Please note that products may vary from country to country and links outside of the United States may show a product with different features, product shown may be incorrect, out of stock, not available, and have a different price.
